Devapriya: lover of the gods

Posted by on Nov 1, 2012 in Buddhism | No Comments

My good friend and teacher died today. His name was Devapriya.

I don’t know what to say about him. It would take a long time to explain exactly how special this guy was, and I don’t feel it’s for me to splash his life all over the internet.

We’ve lost a great teacher today, though I’m glad his pain has ended. I shall miss him.

At Archway station today, when I was leaving his house, I saw a ‘quote of the day’ written on a London Transport noticeboard (it usually says things like ‘Good service on the Northern line’).

It said, “May you live all the days of your life.”

He would’ve liked that. I wouldn’t put it past him to have arranged it in anticipation of this day!

Go well my friend. See you down the line.

With love, with thanks, and with great respect.
